The Sider Institute annually hosts two important events: the Brethren in Christ study conference in the fall, and the Schrag Lecture in the spring.
The Brethren in Christ study conference is held each fall. It provides Brethren in Christ pastors, laypeople, and friends from related denominations with the opportunity to reflect on important issues in theologically informed ways."
The study conference also encourages research and scholarship on aspects of the Brethren in Christ tradition. Major papers from this conference are published in , a journal focused on Brethren in Christ thought, history, and culture.
The Schrag Lecture series is named in honor of Dr. Martin and Dorothy Schrag, professors emeritus of church history and music, respectively, at 91制片厂 College. These lectures offer the 91制片厂 College community and members of the college's founding denomination with the opportunity to reflect on Anabaptist history, theology, or ethics.
Held in collaboration with the , this annual event invites three young historians from Historic Peace Church traditions (Mennonite/Brethren in Christ, Church of the Brethren, Quaker, etc.) to share their research with a public audience.
Periodically, in addition to its annual Brethren in Christ study conferences and Schrag Lectures, the Sider Institute will sponsor various lectures or events at both on- and off-campus locations. These lectures and events are related in some way to the Institute's mission.
